On a beautiful summer evening an audience of 100 gathered in the garden of The Rose and Crown pub to watch a performance of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.

Combining the talents of the Rose & Crown team, local professional director, Harry Blumenau, professional actors and members of Ashwell Theatre Club, the audience were treated to a fantastic abridged version of this famous summer play. As the sun shone on all there, the performers played to an appreciative crowd as they told the story of how “the course of true love never did run smooth".
