AGM News

The Ashwell Theatre Club AGM took place last Thursday, 17th October, and as well as looking back over a good year we sadly had to say goodbye to two of our committee members. Christine Schwick has been on the committee for several years, most recently as Secretary. Christine's quick humour will be much missed at committee meetings where she could always been counted on the lighten the mood. We hope she will continue to act (amazingly!! - she always steals every scene she's in) and to direct productions for us.

We also said goodbye to Connie Chambers, our chairperson. Connie has been the ATC chair for an amazing 11 years. During this time Connie has overseen many important changes to the club - including but not limited to - new curtains and mid-tabs for the stage, brand new lighting, the purchase and installation of professional theatre-grade tracking for scenery, new chairs for the village hall (and therefore our audiences), the overhauling of the costume cupboard and scenery/props area among many other things. Connie made an emotional speech - explaining that she is only stepping down due to family commitments which have had an impact on the time she can give to the club.

An evening out to thank Connie properly for all her hard work for ATC will be organised for later in the year and all members are welcome to attend.

Connie and Christine - you will be much missed at committee meetings from now on.
